About Eszter
Eszter Lakatos is a computational biologist specializing in the application of mathematical and bioinformatic techniques to understand biological processes in health and disease. She works at the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Chalmers University of Technology, where she leads the Computing Disease Evolution in Cancer (CODEc) group. Her team develops mathematical models and bioinformatic methods to investigate how cancers evolve in response to immune system dynamics and therapeutic interventions.
Research
Our research group, led by Eszter Lakatos, focuses on applying quantitative techniques to uncover the biological principles that govern disease, with the goal of improving clinical decision-making. We develop stochastic mathematical models combined with bioinformatic approaches to analyze next-generation sequencing datasets. Our work centers on understanding how cancers evolve to evade immune surveillance and resist anti-cancer therapies.
